El Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and the governor of the state of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Narro Quintero, participated in the inauguration of the Ibero-American Forum for Tourism Development Nayarit 2024, which aims to create knowledge transfer schemes and technologies applied to the tourism sector.
During the event, the importance of training new generations of tourism professionals and scientific research was highlighted, since their capacity for analysis, systematization and rigorous discipline will allow a more effective approach to issues directly related to this sector. .
Applied research must be a pillar that leads the value chain to generate a tourism business intelligence system, based on technological innovation and pointing towards sustainable development.
It was reported that it is a reliable element for decision-making and the development of public policies, as well as an indisputable instrument for continuous improvement in the products and services offered to tourists.
Likewise, it was added that tourism is a school of life, comprehensive, practical, permanent, universal, exceptional and fascinating, unique in the world, in which all teachers and all students eagerly await the beginning of the courses. .
The relevance of the joint work of the government, social, academic and business sectors to create synergy for the benefit of comprehensive education, both for students and service providers, was reiterated.
Sectur initiatives in Nayarit:
- Investigation programs: Promote the creation of new tourism products based on the needs of tourists.
- Training: Stimulate the training and specialization of human resources in face-to-face and virtual modalities.
- Link with the business sector: Expand the work capabilities of tourism professionals.
- Standardization: Promote standardization models for the regulation and certification of tourism services.
During this event it was pointed out that Nayarit has tourist attractions such as the archaeological zone of Ixtlán del Río, the beaches of Bahía de Banderas, Nuevo Nayarit, Punta Mita or Sayulita, and 9 Magical Towns.
Within the framework of the Ibero-American Forum for Tourism Development Nayarit 2024, the agreement was signed for the Magical Color Routes initiative, in alliance with Comex and Corazón Urbano, for Amatlán de Cañas, Ixtlán del Río, Ahuacatlán, Jala and San Pedro Lagunillas.
