Baja California dresses up to celebrate the harvest with a series of events that exalt the wine, cultural and fashion wealth of the region. The Harvest Experiences, which extend from 31 from July to 18 from August, invite you to immerse yourself in a whirlwind of flavors, traditions and local talent.

Nearly 120 thousand visitors are expected to attend and an approximate spill of 800 million pesos.

In a press conference, the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, together with representatives of the Provino Committee e Innovamoda, presented the Harvest Experiences in Baja California, a series of activities that celebrate the grape harvest and promote tourism in the region.

These events not only seek to attract national and international tourists, but also to strengthen the local economy, support wine producers and highlight Baja California as the most important destination in the country in the field of wine tourism and gastronomy.

Wenceslao Martínez Payán, President of the Provino Committee, detailed that Baja California produces 70% of the wine production in Mexico and the XXXIV Harvest Festival contributes significantly to the projection of the state, generating a tourist influx of around 120 thousand visitors and an approximate economic benefit of 800 million pesos. .

Baja California: These are the events you can't miss!

A toast to wine Baja Californian:

  • Wine Show (July 31): A B2B meeting for professionals in the wine sector.
  • Wine Show (August 2): Taste more than 160 labels from 84 wineries.
  • Paella Contest (August 18): A family event with 90 teams competing.
  • Oenological visits (Saturdays in August): Guided tours to three wineries per day.

Héctor Corona, treasurer of Provino, detailed that there will also be wine tours on Saturdays in August, offering guided tours to three wineries per day.

The conference also included the participation of Vanessa Bañuelos, director of Innovamoda, who presented the 12th edition of the event dedicated to promoting the fashion industry in Baja California:

“We will have 12 catwalks, in which our six designer contest winners and six star designers will participate,” he said.

The event will take place on the days September 6 and 7 at Bodegas del Valle, and promises to be a comprehensive platform that will not only highlight emerging fashion talent, but also promote local consumption with activities such as workshops, conferences and a business zone, Innovamoda Fashion Experience, which seeks to attract a diverse audience, fusing fashion with oenology and gastronomy.

For his part, the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California presented the initiative of Entrepreneurs of Valle de Guadalupe AC., which consists of an agenda of events designed to highlight the unique virtues of the Guadalupe Valley and strengthen its position as the main wine tourism destination in Mexico.

“Our commitment is to always offer the best and most unique experiences to those who visit us,” said Aguíñiga. 

“We can guarantee that Baja California is a destination that has been successful, sustainable and competitive, where everyone is welcome,” he added.

The official highlighted other events that will be happening within the framework of the Harvest Festival in the entity such as Baja Wine & Grill Fest in Viñas de Liceaga: An event that combines the best of wine, beer and barbecues in a festive atmosphere.

  • The La Bota Event (July 20) at Decantos Vinícola: Celebration of the ninth anniversary with special activities.
  • Festival of Colors (August 10) at LA Cetto: Gastronomic experience with grape stomping and more.

The event agenda for Entrepreneurs of Valle de Guadalupe is:

  • Valle Wine And Brew Fest (July 7) at Ojo Azul Resort: Festival of wines, craft beers and regional food.
  • Vineyard Pairing Dinner (August 3) at El Cielo: A dinner that highlights Baja California flavors.
  • Wines and Paellas (August 10) in Castillo Ferrer: Tasting of paellas with local products.
  • Tuscan Night (August 29) at Casa La Noria: Unique gastronomic experience.
  • Art Dinner (August 31) in Rancho L-86.
  • Wine and Romance (September 1) at Hacienda María Trinidad: Wine and Romance Wedding Expo.

This harvest season promises to be a celebration of the wine, gastronomic and fashion culture of Baja California, consolidating its position as a top-level tourist destination on a national and international scale and promoting the economic and cultural development of the state.
