El Undersecretary of Tourism, Sebastian Ramirez Mendoza, responsible for the economic, cultural and social reactivation of Acapulco, toured the port to continue with actions to strengthen this important tourist destination.
Following the strategy “Acapulco Transforms With You”, and accompanied by Lyndia Quiroz Zavala, head of the National Fund for Tourism Development (Fonatur), and by the Secretary of Tourism of Guerrero, Simón Quiñones Orozco, Ramírez Mendoza supervised the dredging works carried out by the National Water Commission (With water) in the San Agustin Stream.
During the tours, the work in progress was reviewed and it was agreed to continue with the works, as part of the comprehensive effort to mitigate water risks in the area, according to Conagua, which joins the efforts of dredging carried out in key streams such as:
- San Agustin,
- Dog Creek,
- Dry Creek and,
- Dead Man's Creek.
On this work tour, Ramirez Mendoza and the delegation that accompanied him, toured the facilities of the El Rollo Water Park, where their current conditions were assessed and a preliminary rehabilitation plan was designed to recover their relevance as a recreational and tourist attraction.
Subsequently, in Parque Papagayo the recreational areas were reviewed and opportunities to modernize its infrastructure were analyzed; while on the beaches of Caleta y Caletilla Various problems were reviewed and strategies were proposed to diversify its tourist offer.
The Undersecretary of Tourism recalled the importance of collaborative work with key institutions and the private sector to transform Acapulco into a competitive, resilient and sustainable tourist destination.
Ramírez Mendoza pointed out that, with the above, and through visits, tours and strategic meetings, the Ministry of Tourismor advances in the planning and execution of projects focused on modernizing infrastructure, developing new tourism experiences and attracting investment.
